Aurora Pet Hospital first opened its doors October 1, 2004. Originally
located in a 1400 square foot space at 400 Olean Road, it consisted
of a combined waiting area, two small exam rooms, and a surgical
suite.
Dr. Michael Keem had a vision of bringing to East Aurora a veterinary
facility designed for the 21st century. While occupying
400 Olean Road, the “dream” hospital was being constructed
at 410 Olean Road. Increasing square footage from 1400
to 4500 square feet upstairs and downstairs was no small undertaking. Working
closely with the architect and contractor, Dr. Keem oversaw the
project and took ownership of his new hospital on November 28,
2005.
Aurora Pet Hospital provides a spacious waiting area separating
dogs and cats. The area is bright and airy and our receptionists
are always there to greet you with a smile.
We have a total of 5 examination rooms; 2 for cats, 1 for a
cat or small dog/puppy and 2 large rooms for large dogs. The
large exam rooms are equipped with lift tables to easily elevate
your pet to the proper level for examinations and minor treatments.
Beyond the exam room doors are our qualified staff working in
the laboratory, pharmacy, or preparation and treatment area. Our
preparation and treatment area also houses our post-operative
patient area so our staff can monitor their surgical recovery. After
they are fully awake they are moved to a recovery room for some
rest and relaxation in a quiet atmosphere. Our surgical
suite is spacious with state of the art equipment to continuously
monitor all of your pet’s vital signs. Our radiology
room is located adjacent to our surgical suite. Further,
toward the rear of our hospital, we have our boarding area. Cats
are housed in kitty-condos and dogs are in a run area completely
separate from each other. We also have a fully fenced outdoor
exercise area for our boarding dogs to get some exercise while
under staff supervision.
If you are interested in taking a tour of the facility, please
phone Linda Sisti, Practice Manager and she will be happy to
assist in the coordination of that tour.
