Michael
D. Keem, DVM
Dr. Michael D. Keem is a Western New York native and graduate of the former Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsville. He received his BS in Biology from Niagara University, an MS in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Wyoming, and his D.V.M. degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He founded Aurora Pet Hospital on October 1, 2004. Dr. Keem is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the NYS Veterinary Medical Association, the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society, and the Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He is active in the local veterinary community, and has served in the past as President of the WNY Veterinary Medical Association, the Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine and on the Board of Directors of the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society.
Dr. Keem has a special interest in veterinary dermatology and is an active member of the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology. Besides this veterinary practice, Dr. Keem enjoys spending time with Donna, their children and grandchildren, and loves golfing and boating in his spare time. |

Dr. L. Scott Tyczka, DVM
Dr. L. Scott Tyczka, a native Western New Yorker and graduate
of West Seneca East High School and Canisius College, earned
his D.V.M. degree at the Cornell University College of
Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Tyczka completed his post graduate
small animal internship in medicine and surgery at the
Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon, Canada.
After bicycling across the country in 2001, Dr. Tyczka spent
the next two winters as a professional ski patroller while
performing veterinary relief work at a variety of hospitals
in and around Park City, Utah. He joined the staff
of Aurora Pet Hospital in January 2005. Outside of
the hospital, Dr. Tyczka enjoys bicycling, soccer, skiing
and snowboarding. He is currently a National Ski patroller
at Holimont in Ellicottville, New York. |

Dr. Valerie Giallella, DVM
Dr. Valerie Giallella grew up outside of Rochester, New
York. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Carnegie
Mellon University. She completed her Master’s Degree
in Psychology, at the University of Buffalo, then changed
career paths and began to pursue her career in veterinary
medicine. She earned her D.V.M. degree from Cornell University
College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Giallella and her husband,
Mark, are East Aurora residents. Together, they share their
home with two dogs, three cats, and six goldfish.
